  • AAMC Compact Between Postdoctoral Appointees and Their Mentors

The AAMC has published the Compact which encapsulates “guiding principles intended to support the development of positive mentoring relationships between postdoctoral appointees and their mentors.”  The AAMC suggests that the Compact be used to start discussions among research leadership about issues it raises; as a recruitment tool; as part of a contract signed by fellows and their mentors; or as part of the trainee-mentor annual evaluation process.  Originally published in 2006, the current version was revised and published in January 2017 with input from the AAMC and national postdoctoral fellow communities/organizations.  We encourage Partners mentors to review and use this tool with their fellows.
